Michael O’Neill is ready to turn up on the doorsteps of potential players to ensure they are willing to accept call-ups for the Northern Ireland national teams.
The manager has admitted he is fed up of seeing young players turning their back on Northern Ireland and will do everything in his power to ensure they feel part of the set-up and aware of how the association sees their progression going.
18 year-old Ryan McLaughlin is a player that many Northern Ireland fans have high hopes for. The right-back has been impressing in the Liverpool youth teams of late and already been called up to a number of the international senior squads.

Derry City confirmed by way of the club’s Twitter account this morning that 31 year-old goalkeeper Gerard Doherty has been called up the Northern Ireland squad for Wednesday’s friendly with Malta.
